Helping mama cats have their last litter, and giving her kittens the best start.

How it works

If your cat is pregnant or has recently had kittens, HAVA’s Last Litter Program may be able to help. This program is designed to support both mama cat and her kittens during a critical time, and to make sure this is the last litter she has to go through.

If selected for the program, HAVA will care for mama and her kittens during the nursing period, find loving adoptive homes for the kittens, and arrange a spay surgery for mama before she returns home to you. The result: your cat comes home healthy, recovered, and unable to have future litters, breaking the cycle for good.

Is this program right for you?

This program is open to North Pacific County residents whose cat is currently pregnant or has recently given birth, and who want mama cat returned home after her kittens are weaned and she has been spayed.

If you are looking for low-income spay/neuter assistance for a cat that is not pregnant, that is a separate program. Visit our Spay/Neuter Assistance page for more information.

Important information before you apply

Pregnancy and spay surgery carry inherent medical risks. By participating in this program, you acknowledge that HAVA volunteers will provide care to the best of their ability, but that HAVA cannot guarantee outcomes and is not liable for complications arising from pregnancy, birth, nursing, or surgical procedures. HAVA is an all-volunteer organization and we appreciate your understanding of the risks involved.
